Divine Opportunities - See and Seize the Day

Every day presents us with divine opportunities to grow in the likeness of
Christ, and to express Christ's love to a lost world. Making the most of
these opportunities involves two keys.

The first key is SEEING. Do we enter each day expecting and looking for
God's opportunities? He has given us a mission - make disciples. Fulfilling
the mission will require an alertness to 'open doors' that God provides in
the ordinary course of our day. Most opportunities are missed because we
fail to see them. "Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most

“The Greatest Nation in the World!”

Over the years I’ve heard the following expression many times: “America is the greatest nation in the world!” As John Howard conceded defeat on Saturday evening he said in passing: “Australia is the greatest nation in the World!” As an unbiased person I agree with Mr Howard! However, more often than not these statements are mere emotional, patriotic drivel.

No one seems to ask the serious question, “What criteria establish a nation as the greatest in the world?”

Election Day

Wow what a day, it was awesome to see a little over 2000 people come and vote at the church. We offered free tea, coffee & scones, plus we had the jumping castles going for the little ones and we were selling sausages and cans. It was so fun just to serve the local community and to show them that we care.

It was great to see the fellowship of believers together working in the community. All parts of the family helped, from the young to the mature (not so young). The young girls really took to the BBQ and I do not think the guys got a look in.

New Year 2008

I cannot believe 2007 is behind us, the year flew by, but here we are in a new year. What do we expect for this coming year. I was reading this past week and saw a story where they said in the Bible 7 means complete or completed where as 8 is the number for new beginnings.

So if 2008 is to be a year of new beginnings for us we need to do some things, we need to be FAT for God. I don't mean overweight, what I mean is F.A.T.

F - Faithful.
This means being true to God in all the things we do & say 24/7.

A - Available.

BE A DEAF FROG - SOMETIMES!

Who we listen to determines whether we achieve our destiny! How many people have failed, or even failed to try, to achieve their potential because someone said “You’ll never do it!”

Two psychiatrists met at their 20th university reunion. One looked young and vibrant, while the other looked old and worried. "So what's your secret?" the older looking psychiatrist asked. "Listening to other people's problems every day, all day long, for years on end, has made me an old man." The younger looking psychiatrist replied, “It’s really quite simple, DON’T LISTEN!”

Easterfest

Over this Easter I went up to Easterfest (Formerly Australian Gospel Music Festival), it was a great time away celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. On the Sunday morning I rose early (around 4am) with the rest of the Young Adults and made my way to picnic point, to the lookout. As we stood together cold and shivering I read the resurrection story from the Gospel of Mark. After reading it out we prayed together, then watched the sunrise, it was one of the most beautiful things I have seen.
