Hills Wesleyan

Every day presents us with divine opportunities to grow in the likeness of
Christ, and to express Christ's love to a lost world. Making the most of
these opportunities involves two keys.

The first key is SEEING. Do we enter each day expecting and looking for
God's opportunities? He has given us a mission - make disciples. Fulfilling
the mission will require an alertness to 'open doors' that God provides in
the ordinary course of our day. Most opportunities are missed because we
fail to see them. "Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most
people don't recognise them" (Ann Landers). May God give us eyes to see!

The second key is SEIZING. Once we see these opportunities do we overcome
our fear, lack of confidence, and apathy to 'seize the day'. God's
opportunities bring with them His enabling to make the most of them. God
will never ask of us anything that His grace and power will not enable us to
do!

Being a good surfer involves both WATCHING for the rideable waves and
PADDLING LIKE MAD to catch them when they reach us.
